Sea Freight is the most popular method of transport chosen by our customers. Shipping is the most cost-effective, but can take 2-6 weeks for a Full Container Load (FCL) and up to 10 weeks for a Shared Shipping Container.
Air Freight is more expensive but has a much quicker turnaround time of around a week. There is also a different list of items that are excluded in cargo planes compared to cargo ships.
Vehicles
If you want to take your car with you to America, you can! You can take multiple options to get your UK car over to the US.
All vehicles are transported by sea via:
• Roll on-Roll off
• Full container shipping (your car can be in a container with your belongings)
• Shared Shipping Container
Before deciding to ship your car, you must check all regulations surrounding UK licences in America, check any amendments that you may need to make to your car to make it US legal, and prepare for any quarantine inspects your car will undergo. It is also worth remembering that Americans drive on the other side of the road!!
Pets
At Eurogroup, we understand that your pets are a massive part of your family and need care when being transported to your new home.
The most common pets shipped to America are cats and dogs. All cats and dogs must be microchipped and have health certificates approved by a vet. Animals being shipped to America do not need to be quarantined.
