What is a Removals Survey?

A removals survey is the first step in planning your move. It allows us to understand the volume of your belongings, access at your property, and any special requirements, ensuring your quote is accurate and your move day runs smoothly.

At Eurogroup, we offer Virtual Surveys which are convenient, quick, and free; conducted via video call. We also offer On-Site Surveys – for customers with specialist collections or fragile items requiring in-person inspection.

Virtual Surveys

Our virtual surveys are carried out via a secure video call, allowing us to assess everything from the comfort of your own home. You’ll be guided room by room by a friendly Eurogroup representative or one of our trusted survey partners.

Getting prepared for your survey

To make sure your survey runs smoothly and gives the most accurate results, here are a few things to do beforehand:

Before Your Virtual Survey
  • Know who you’ll be meeting: Find out if your surveyor is an in-house Eurogroup team member or an external partner, this helps you know what questions to ask.
  • Check your device: Make sure your smartphone or tablet has a working camera, microphone, and sound.
  • Ensure a stable internet connection: The call should be uninterrupted for the duration of the survey.
  • Clear safe pathways: Make sure the surveyor can “walk through” your home virtually without tripping over obstacles.
  • Good lighting: Open all curtains and blinds so every item can be clearly seen on camera.
During the Survey

Your survey will usually start at the front door, just like moving day. The surveyor will guide you room-by-room through your property, noting everything that needs to be packed and transported.

Here’s what to expect:

  • Begin at the entrance and move systematically through each room.
  • Show all items of furniture, including contents inside wardrobes, cupboards, and storage units.
  • Point out fragile, valuable, or sentimental items so we can plan special handling.
  • Let the surveyor know which items you do not want moved.
  • Feel free to highlight anything particularly important to you, this helps us ensure extra care and attention.
After the Survey

Once the walkthrough is complete, your surveyor will confirm the details of your move and answer any remaining questions. This is the perfect time to:

  • Ask about anything related to your upcoming move.
  • Confirm special instructions or access issues at either property.
  • Double-check that all the details of your move have been correctly noted.

After the call, your Move Manager will review your survey and send you a detailed quotation tailored to your requirements.

On-Site Surveys

Most customers now opt for our convenient virtual surveys. However, we still offer in-person visits for large or complex properties, valuable or specialist items, or when access is particularly challenging. Our experienced survey team will visit your home, assess your belongings firsthand, and review the details of your move.
